Mary grew up on a 40 acre working tree farm & nursery her father started in 1947 – that also had family farm animals; dogs, chickens and horses. A family business, Mary learned the art of customer service, hard work and her orderly attention to detail and merchandising at a very young age. Working with everything from large corporate clients and yearly contracts to retail consumers who came every spring to buy her families renowned hardy geraniums, perennials and trees.
An Alumni of the University of Pittsburgh, (1993), she immersed herself in the world of Marketing and all that she learned with customer service and client relations. In the late ‘90’s she earned her specialization in Social Media and Internet Marketing while a stay-at-home freelancing mom of four. As her children grew, it was important to her that her kids understood and appreciated animals and all they provide to us. She became an instructor with her local chapter of 4H and immersed her family in the many programs available as well as local farmers’ markets; all while being a regional retail promotions representative for General Mills. She then found her love of creating Marketing departments and was the lead in establishing and implementing a Marketing Department for a local real estate broker. From there she moved on to creating yet another Marketing Department for another Pittsburgh company that is still running under her format and structure today.
During all of these professional changes she always kept her love for animals alive by keeping a hand in animal welfare and community service. She volunteered at local animal shelters and became involved with working with local Humane Officers in rescuing small breed dogs as well as starting down the road to learning the art of training rescue dogs for search and rescue, inspired by her husband’s experience with being a K9 Police Officer with the City of Pittsburgh.
She is excited to join the Nemacolin Wooflands team to combine her two loves of Customer Service and Animals on a daily basis.
